Join Us on May 29: From Recommendations to Action: Strengthening our Region’s Talent Pipeline for the Construction Industry

Construction projects are booming in our region, but the talent pipeline isn’t robust enough to support the demand for workers. Southwest Ohio policy makers and workforce leaders are invited to join the Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio for a panel of southwest Ohio construction workforce leaders and practitioners. The group will discuss how to begin activating the recommendations in the Workforce Council’s recent report, Supporting & Building the Construction Workforce in Cincinnati and Hamilton County.

Attendees will leave this event with a strong understanding of strategies that are working well locally to recruit, train, and retain the next generation of skilled workers, as well as how public policy can best enhance this work.  Thank you to the Ohio Dept. of Job & Family Services for supporting this work.

Panelists include:

  • Chris Fridel, Assistant Director – IBEW/NECA Electrical Training Center and Director – Greater Cincinnati Apprenticeship Council
  • Susan Hakel, Director of Adult Workforce Development at Great Oaks Career Campuses
