Tyasia was automatically enrolled in Hamilton County’s Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP) after applying for public assistance. In Ohio, the state blends federal workforce funds (WIOA) with other federal dollars to fund the CCMEP program. At the time of enrollment, Tyasia faced several barriers, including being a single parent, unemployment, and low income. She held a high school diploma and expressed a strong interest in pursuing a career in culinary arts. With the support of CCMEP, Tyasia began working toward building the skills and credentials needed to succeed in this field.  

In September 2024, Tyasia earned her Culinary Arts certification through CityLink’s culinary training program. Shortly after completing the program, she secured employment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, working in the kitchen and earning $13.00 per hour. To support her employment and ensure consistent attendance, CCMEP provided 30-day bus passes to assist with transportation to and from work. 

In August 2025, Tyasia continued her career advancement by obtaining a cook position at the University of Cincinnati, earning $20.41 per hour. She successfully maintained this position for four months, demonstrating reliability, growth, and commitment to her career path. As a result of meeting CCMEP program requirements and sustaining employment, Tyasia received a $500 incentive payment in recognition of her achievement. Tyasia’s journey reflects her dedication to self-sufficiency and highlights the positive impact of CCMEP services in supporting participants as they achieve meaningful employment and long-term career growth.
