UC Aspire’s RISE UP Retail Industry Fundamentals for English Learners class gives learners a chance to learn in-demand retail skills, develop English for the workplace, and earn an industry-recognized credential. This class is free to all eligible learners. There is no cost. 

Classes start on April 21, 2026, and end on June 11, 2026. Classes meet 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and are held in person at Catholic Charities, 7162 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45237. Classes may include interviews with local employers. 

To enroll, learners must: 

• have valid U.S. work authorization 

• be able to accept entry-level retail employment after completing the class 

• complete an information/orientation session 

There is no online option for orientation. Learners only need to sign up for one session at Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio (7162 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45237): 

• Option 1: Tuesday, April 7, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. 

• Option 2: Thursday, April 9, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
