The Cincinnati region is experiencing a construction worker shortage as major construction projects get underway. It’s critical that the region comes together to address this challenge quickly. Doing so will ensure that local residents can take advantage of these job opportunities and, in turn, help the local economy thrive by contributing to the local tax base.

The WCSO’s newly released report brings together insights from four convenings (August-December 2025) with construction employers, educators, labor representatives, and small business owners.

The clear message: no single sector can solve this challenge alone. Progress requires coordinated action across sectors. If you work in construction, workforce development, education, policy, or community impact, this report is a must‑read.
